May/June 2009
I haven't posted is such awhile, that I finally have a few minutes to sit down and catch up with everyone! We have had a busy summer and really enjoying it with Lorelai being a toddler! She is so much fun and just takes in everything and can't wait to do more!
The first real nice day we had, Lorelai enjoyed her first ice cream sandwich with Daddy outside. We got to play with the sprinklers and sidewalk chalk too!
We went out to Grand Haven on a very windy day to watch their kite festival with Gunk Gunk (Josh's mom) and Papa. Lorelai loved watching all the colorful kites and walking in the sand. After the wind really kicked in, she wasn't such a huge fan anymore, too sandy!
For Father's Day this year, I took Lorelai to Naked Plates in Grandville to paint a new pasta bowl for Daddy. She had a great time and did such a creative job! She understood the routine of rinsing off one tile, before picking the next. She picked all the colors herself!

For Memorial Day, we (me, Josh, Lorelai, my Mom & Bob) went to the parade in Jenison! She enjoyed it much more this year than last. She loved grabbing the candy from the street and putting it in her cup! The best part was she never realized it was edible, she just enjoyed collecting it :) After the parade we went downtown to eat at the restaurant in the Boardwalk Apartments. Josh and I lived there before we built our house, so it was fun to see how it changed. After lunch we went across the street to the park to play by the river.

We went to Lorelai's first Festival downtown this summer with Tracy, Chris and the kids. It was a lot of fun and we all enjoyed the various food! Unfortunatly we went too late in the day, so the kids missed most of the activities, but we all still had fun! Lorelai even got her first ice cream cone!
And this picture was from our first . . . . and last day of gymnastics. We thought we would give it a try, as she is always on the go and used to structure. However, she wanted nothing to do with following the directions. The class "starts" at 18 months, but was definatly not designed for that age at all! We will try again after the first of the year!
And for anyone who may have missed it . . . . . Lorelai would like to announce that she will be a big sister in January!
